Meaning of the name
Chosen for a double meaning, the name of a plot and the blend of the three terroirs present on my estate, namely blue, yellow, and red clays.
Indeed, “Touillères” evokes the verb “touiller,” meaning “to mix,” which parallels with blending.
The first vintage for this cuvée is 2011.
The interest of these three clays: red clay tends to favor fruitiness, yellow clay brings roundness in the middle of the palate, blue clay plays more on the depth of the wines and minerality with very silky tannins.
Tasting notes
With its beautiful soft red robe and bright violet reflections, this bottle proudly displays its boldness and whimsy.
Expressive and talkative, it’s a medley of sweet red fruits that reveal themselves as soon as it’s opened. Cherry, pomegranate, blackcurrant, raspberry… it’s a basket of summer fruits, fresh and juicy.
On the palate, balance reigns with the necessary sweetness, energy, and suppleness to form a harmonious whole. The soft and silky tannins quickly fade away to reveal a supple and indulgent structure.
Pairings
This wine pairs perfectly with exotic appetizers within 5 years or white meats, showcasing its depth.
