Meaning of the name
A single varietal cuvée selected according to the vintage.
Often special cuvées are called ‘old vines,’ but there is no specification defining this term. For this cuvée, our parcels have a minimum of fifty years, and the wine is aged in 600-liter demi-muids in the cellar, leading to a period of ‘forgotten’ aging, hence the name.
Tasting notes
Garnet-red robe with ruby highlights.
This cuvée is characterized by its elegance and precision. Airy, dynamic, almost playful, it’s a quintessential festive wine. Aromatically, one is enveloped by notes of ripe red fruits, cocoa powder, sweet spices, delicate fruity touches. It’s a complex and powerful bouquet that lingers and seduces.
The palate is ample and generous. The present but gentle tannins support a well-structured framework between density, richness, and finesse. The aging process has patiently carved out the characteristics inherent to a rich and typical wine of our Southern Rhône Valley appellations.
Pairings
We will open this forgotten cuvée within 10 years for festive dishes, fine meats, or truffle dishes.
